Positive Impact
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report 1 in 7 children suffers child abuse every year.
SJPC provides parenting education classes in English and Spanish, relationship skills and employee readiness training to help parents change unhealthy parenting patterns and decrease child abuse and neglect.
Parent Demographics
We help parents in their early 20s to late 50s
85% SJPC parents fall below Federal poverty level
62% of the parents involved in our programs are females and 38% are males
67% of the parents are Hispanic/Latino, 14% are African-American, 8% White, 3% are Multi-racial
43% of our parents speak English and 57% Spanish, with Spanish as their primary language
